Tree Commission
The Tree Commission is charged with fostering the planning, growth, and protection of trees on public property as an advisory group. Its mission includes educating the public as to the economic and aesthetic benefits of trees on both public and private property as well as promotion of care, feeding, health, growth, and protection of trees city-wide including in parks and rights-of-way.

Seven members are appointed by the City Council for five-year terms (June). In addition, five ex-officio members are to consist of one representative nominated from the Beautification Council, the City of Sylacauga's governing body, the Utility Department, Parks & Recreation, and the Commercial Development Authority for terms set by the bodies they represent.
Meets at 8:00 a.m. on the first Friday of each month as needed.
