Animal Shelter
The Animal Shelter creates a loving and caring environment for Talladega County's unwanted, abused, and abandoned dogs and cats.
Operated by the City of Sylacauga, the shelter's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and find homes for animals that have nowhere else to go and, through community outreach and education, free them from suffering, abuse, and exploitation. Two full-time employees, four part-time employees, and volunteers provide critical support including medication, food, and exercise programs.
Located at 41 Shelter Lane in the Pinkerton Industrial Park, the shelter is open from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and can be reached at 256-401-2590.
The shelter accepts and greatly appreciates help from volunteers, contributions of food and supplies, and donations.
