District 1: Ashton Fowler
Ashton Fowler is a Sylacauga native and a 2009 graduate of Sylacauga High School. He earned a BA in Business Management from Auburn University before returning to Sylacauga as the Distribution Supervisor for Blue Bell Creameries, where he routinely checks on Blue Bell drivers and keeps track of travel and traffic variables to ensure shipments are on track for timely delivery. Fowler is also responsible for ensuring Blue Bell and its drivers operate in accordance with the Department of Transportation regulations.
As the City Councilman for District 1, Fowler communicates with constituents who have voiced concerns or have filed complaints and often meets face-to-face with constituents to ensure that an issue is resolved. He also visits the sites of many city projects to check the construction or renovation progress. Outside of serving the citizens of Sylacauga, Fowler enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and biking. He, wife Sally, and son Rhett reside in Taylor Estates with their son two dogs Chief and Lady. First elected to the council in 2016 and reelected in 2020, Fowler is liaison to the Board of Education, Commercial Development Authority, Utilities Board, and Police Department and serves on the Lake Howard Authority. |
