Parks & Recreation
The Parks & Recreation Board was established in 1938 with authority to develop the city's parks, playgrounds, swimming pools, and recreational facilities. It is currently responsible for the J. Craig Smith Community Center, the Verlie B. Collins Center, the Maxye Veazey Senior Adult Activity Center, and five city parks.
