Alexandra Lambert, City Clerk-Treasurer
Alexandra M. Lambert assumed the role of City Clerk-Treasurer for the City of Sylacauga in April 2023. She is responsible for overseeing the administration and finance of the city government. As the official record-keeper, Lambert's duties encompass the creation, maintenance, and production of all official documents, including City of Sylacauga Ordinances, Resolutions, City Council Meeting Minutes, as well as various operational and financial documents. She also oversees and records municipal elections and handles the municipal budgeting process.
Originally from Agawam, Mass., Lambert settled in Sylacauga after retiring from the United States Airb Force and marrying James Lambert, a native. Lambert held several area positions including roles at Hibbett Sports, Serra Nissan, Avondale Trucking, and the United States Postal Service. Her journey with the City of Sylacauga began in 2021 as the Records Clerk for the Police Department. She is a mother of two daughters, Mackenzie and Makayla.
Over the course of 22 years of military service, civilian work since retiring from the military, and active involvement in the local community, Lambert has gained recognition for her loyalty, decisiveness, and persistence in making sound decisions. She is known as a personable leader, a skilled manager, and a team enabler who maximizes strengths, minimizes weaknesses, and fosters success through collaboration at multiple levels.
Lambert brings extensive experience in finance and leadership from her twenty-two-year career in the United States Air Force (1992-2014). Throughout her military service, she was stationed at various locations, including Misawa, Japan; Ramstein Air Base, Germany; Warner Robbins, Georgia; Royal Air Force in Mildenhall, England; Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England; Incirlik Air force Base, Turkey; Baghdad, Iraq; and Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. Education and training have always been a priority for her, and she has pursued various academic achievements during her service. She graduated from Officer Training School in 2002 and holds the following degrees: Associate of Applied Science in Security Administration (1997), Associate of Applied Science in Education and Training Management (1999), Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education and Training with Honors (1999), Master of Science in Education Workforce Education and Training (2000), and Master of Business Administration in General Management (2007). During her military career, she dedicated five years to security-related roles, six years to education and training, and the final 10 years as a Financial Manager in the Department of Defense, where she progressively took on more responsibility and supervised up to 80 personnel. She attained the rank of Major in the United States Air Force, marking her highest achievement.
